Florida Live Performance: Major League - Morning Sunrise Having shot Major League before, and impressed with the recent amount of publicity they have been recieving in the South Floida area, We decided to get down to Studio A in Miami to catch Major League open up for hip-hop legen JERU THE DAMAJA. As Verbal Kush put it..."This is a dream come true." Major League rocks the crowd backed by up and coming DJ Trippin.
Florida Live Performance: Major League - Bills Major League continues to rip the mic at the Dunk XChange. Studio A is packed and loving the awesome foursome of Lex One, Verbal Kush, Mike Beatz, and DJ Trippin. Check them out.
Jeru Performance and Interview Short Documentary: One of the top 50 MC's without a doubt, Jeru is a lyrical master. He is a phenomonal performer and street poet. Having been around since the 90's appearing with GangStarr, Jeru has blessed us with countless underground hits and many commercial that graced the MTV's playlist. We caught this Hip-Hop Legend at this Hip-Hop Clothing Event sponsored by Hi-Top Studio. Miami's Studio A was happy to see Jeru rock the crowd with Classic hits such as "Ya Playin Yourself", "Dirty Rotten Scoundrel", and "El Presidente". He was interviewed by none other than South Florida Open Mic KING and Spoken Word Poet, Renda Writer ( http://www.rendathepoet.com ). Check this video out and if you also love Jeru the Damaja as much as the Underlab Crew does, buy his new Album "STILL RISING", which we believe maintains Jeru classic lyrical prowess. Jeru spits knowledge that YOU MUST HEAR. As Jeru says in the interview, "As Long as Jeru is still around, Hip-Hop is Still Alive." We agree.
Though both Jeru the Damaja and Nas released their debut LPs in 1994, the former hasn't had the same kind of success and name recognition that his fellow New Yorker enjoys. A big part of this is because Jeru has been nowhere near as prolific. While Nas continued to make albums throughout the '90s and 2000s, some of them with poppy enough hooks that he was able to cross over into new territory, Jeru ditched beatmaker-extraordinaire DJ Premier (which Nas didn't do until much later) after his second album, The Wrath of the Math, came out; he kept on criticizing commercial hip-hip (a move that generally doesn't help radio play), and completed only two albums between 1995 and 2005, neither of which were particularly impressive. Now, with the issuing of Still Rising, a clear allusion to his debut, The Sun Rises in the East, on his own Ashenafi Records, Jeru is trying to re-stake his claim as an East Coast force. With a couple of unknown but generally capable, producers, the MC presents a compelling enough case regarding his verbal authority, both directly ("How Ill," where he spits "Bring peace to the Gaza Strip 'cause I got so much clout/Mario owe me dope for knocking Donkey Kong out/Wolfgang Puck gave me paper to teach him to cook/J.K. Rowling asked me to write the next Harry Potter book") and indirectly, like in the provocative "Airplay," which takes a close, thoughtful look at society, commenting both on the way blacks have been treated and how they treat themselves, in a way that's not often heard in hip-hop ("Like the days of step-and-fetch-it we still acting like fools/We have the most expensive cars but oldest books in school"). There are some weak points on the record -- the boring closer "Streets," or "Quantum Leap," which is a little too close to Nas' mainstream breakout, "If I Ruled the World" -- and there's no real "standout" track, but, as the title implies, this is a process that isn't over, and Still Rising puts Jeru back on the path to MC venerability. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – The mark of a true entrepreneur is the ability to see a void in the marketplace and know how to fill it with the right business plan, and then be quick enough to do it before others notice the same void and try to capitalize on it.
Local entrepreneur and visionary businessman Casey Martin was keen enough to notice that although the internet is filled with auction websites such as Ebay.com, Bidz.com, and Ubid.com, oddly enough there is no auction website devoted solely to the buying and selling of name brand urban fashions and apparel.
Never one to hesitate, Mr. Martin soon developed a winning business plan for www.MyUrbanDealz.com, a user-friendly site dedicated to bringing the internet auction format of doing business into the world of urban fashions. He immediately brought his idea over to the web development team at www.ULSmedia.com, a Margate-based multi-media company responsible for the creation of countless websites for local companies, and the beta version of his site was soon created.
With these initial steps out of the way, Casey Martin is now preparing for the official launch of www.MyUrbanDealz.com in January, 2008. The site will provide users with the ability to register with the site for free and then sell and place bids on name brand urban fashions such as Sean John, Baby Phat, Apple Bottoms, ENYCE, Mark Ecko, and a whole lot more. Mr. Martin is even open to the idea of allowing independent urban fashion designers to use his site for marketing and selling their clothes.
Registering with the site is simple and fast and can be done within minutes of clicking the “Register” button on the homepage. For those who are new to the concept of internet auctions, clicking the “Help” button on the homepage provides a clear overview of how the concept works. Purchases can be made securely through PayPal and all major credit cards. www.MyUrbanDealz.com will be promoted heavily with the help of ULS Media’s signature approach to viral marketing and utilizing all forms of both traditional and guerilla marketing.
Casey Martin has one main goal, and that is to make his new website into the forerunner and standard of excellence in the field of selling urban fashions and apparel in the internet auction marketplace. With an innovative idea and a solid team behind him, Casey will have no trouble turning 2008 into the year that www.MyUrbanDealz.com becomes a household name. Those interested in helping to publicize and promote Casey Martin’s vision are encouraged to contact him directly at (954) 665-5995 or Support@MyUrbanDealz.com.

What happens when the high calibur talents of local south florida artists, Cat Shell and Tate Earle's Band THE SMOKIN RICKSHAWS fuse together? They become a category all their own. Better yet they are "The Categories." Underlab Studios was proud to be invited to shoot the 1st EVER performance of this now exploding band. Watch this clip:
Tate Earle, singer/songwriter, guitarist, and harmonica player stems from a colorful background of many muscial genres. As the front man of his original band, The Smokin' Rickshaws, Tate introduced himself to the South Florida scene as a funk master with the natural ability to capture the attention of an audience and get them on their feet. His music is honest, inspiring, and maintains a universal appeal.
The beating heart of The Categories is captured by drummer Judd Gleckman. Since his first public drumming performance in the 4th grade, Judd Gleckman has had a passion to play! After winning various state awards in High School, Judd went on to attend The Berklee College Of Music. It was during these intense years of studying & performing with some of the elite musicians in Boston, Judd had developed his own highly musical style of drumming. After playing with various bands & singer songwriters over the past 20 years, Judd's passion to play drums continues to burn! .
Casey White is one of the youngest and most talented bass players on the South Florida scene. He has proven that age makes no difference when it comes to presence and performance. Casey's timing and enthusiasm are unmatched. His skill level is beyond his years and he has already created a name for himelf at the age of 17.

This song is particularly special to Underlab Studios as it is the featured song on our Film - Cut Your Hand on The Good Book.
The night was to screen Dawn Dubriel's "Champagne.", but problems with the projector defered our plan. But the show went on, because J.Hexx delivered an inside performance complete in make-up and gore. Cameos include: Chopp Devize, Rusty Ellison, & Dawn Dubriel herself.
Mineo was later caught when Underlab Studios decided to leave Ali-baba's Hookah Lounge to visit another Boca Raton Holloween Event at The Funky Buddha Lounge (holloween was all about hookahs). In this video we blended both hookah lounges an their different atmospheres and made a montage of all the cool holloween freaks we encountered dancing the holloween ghoulish night away. Now let our Jester Mike Mineo Take You away with his hit song - BALLROOM.
Java D'Lites love when Mikey Mo comes and blesses the crowd with his freestyles. Come every Monday or Friday for Renda Writers "OPEN MIC" and join your performing peers sharing the stage or relax in a creative environment with a coffee or a hookah.
Mikey Mo likes to rap about anything. A crowd member asks him to rap about Pins and Needles, as much to Mikey style he performs with a guy he just met outside of Java D'lites in Coral Springs Florida. Watch this zany rapper do his thing:
Mikey Mo follows it up now with a written song he created through his networkings on MySpace. We never got the actual title, but he does describe the song as being about balance. The madness in his eyes truly reveal a hidden genius.
